How To Check Your Library Record
Library Rules
Money from fines and lost books goes toward the purchase of new books for the library. Circulation Policies Students must we wearing their ID to check out books. A temporary ID is accepted. They are allowed to check out a maximum of two books for two weeks. Materials may be renewed once. Students are charged ten cents per day for overdue materials. If a book is lost or damaged, the student is responsible for the replacement cost of the book plus a $2.00 service charge. Students may not check out a book when they have an outstanding fine or overdue book. Once all overdue books are returned and fines paid, students may check out books again. Books must be turned in before or on the date that is stamped in the back of their book. They can either return the book to the librarian, or place it in the blue library drop box that is located outside the library. If a student is absent the day his/her book is due, an attendance note will waive late fees for the days in which the student was absent. Internet Use Policy Computers are available to students for educational use only. Chat rooms and personal email are forbidden. To use the Internet, students must be wearing their ID (temporary IDs are accepted), and have their internet permission form (found in their agenda), and no outstanding books or fines. Printing Policy Students should obtain permission before printing any Internet documents. They are required to use "print preview" to select pages to print. The fee for printing is ten cents per page. In addition to the Internet, students may use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Again, the cost for printing is 10 cents per page. Teacher Information 1) Teachers who wish to bring their entire class to the library, will need to sign up for a time in advance. The library sign up sheet is located on the circulation desk in the library. Please feel free to stop by any time to sign up. 2) When teachers bring their class to the library, they must remain with their students at all times and monitor their behavior. Students must follow general class rules while visiting the library: gum, food, and drinks are not allowed, talking should be minimized to a whisper, running and throwing are not tolerated, etc. Teachers who are absent on their library day, must see the librarian to reschedule. Students should not come to the library with a substitute teacher. 3) Teachers who want the librarian to pull books for students (for projects or research, etc.) need to email the librarian the subject (s) and she will find suitable books. Please give 24 hour notice. 4) Teachers who want to check out a book or an electronic resource, need to stop by the library to speak to the librarian to see if there is something that will their needs.
